Akbar Birbal Relationship

Akbar Birbal relationship is very famous and is of great interest for the people who have heard about it. Akbar the Mughal Emperor and his Grand Prime Minister, Birbal were very close to each other. Birbal being the most trusted member amongst the 9 gems of Akbar and was the only Hindu believer of Din-i-Ilahi, the new religion propagated by Akbar.

 


Birbal’s duties in Akbar’s court were mainly administrative and military based, however, Akbar and Birbal were very close friends because Akbar liked the wit and wisdom of Birbal. The stories of the wisdom of Birbal are very famous and are found in various story books. These story books are loved by people of all the age groups including school children, youngsters and old people too.

Akbar Birbal Relationship

The relationship of Akbar and Birbal is very famous in the history of the Mughals. Akbar’s genuine love for his Grand Prime Minister, Birbal is attested by many incidents. Two of such incidents can be mentioned here when Birbal had fallen down from his horse and Akbar took care of him personally.

Another incident took place when there was a fight between two wild elephants and one of them ran after Birbal. Akbar took his horse and brought him in between the elephant and Birbal which made the wild elephant silent. Though it was dangerous for King Akbar, his love for Birbal was much higher than all the fears of the world.

Death of Birbal was shocking for Akbar. Birbal died in the battle of Malandari Pass. Akbar mourned on his death for a long time and he had not attended the court as well. Many courtiers were jealous of Birbal and were busy plotting against him. Sanchit Fazal killed Birbal treacherously because of the close relationship between Akbar and Birbal.

Akbar Birbal Stories

One cannot forget to mention the Akbar Birbal stories while discussing about their relationships. These stories are famous and they narrate Birbal’s quick wit and sense of humor. The stories narrate how Akbar used to pose strange and amusing questions to his courtiers and only Birbal had the answers for them. Such stories are entitled as ‘Birbal the Wise’, ‘Birbal the Clever’, ‘Birbal the Genius’ and ‘Akbar Birbal stories’.

These stories are published in books and online. The stories are also included in school story books. Elder people love to read and listen these stories as much as the school children do. The wit and wisdom of Birbal is narrated in all the stories and is of great interest. The ability of Birbal to solve the questions put forward by Akbar makes it clear that Birbal had great talent which impressed Akbar.

Along with the books, there are TV serials, animated movies, animated serials, cartoon films on the Akbar Birbal Stories. These animations have tried to show the real picture of relationship between Akbar and Birbal.
