Along with the marble there are gems and stones embedded to enhance the beauty of the monument.

• Taj Mahal Art: The amazing art on the surface of the Taj Mahal marble screen is the decorative pietra dura inlay work along with the cenotaphs decorated with motifs like flowers, calligraphy and delicate arabesques. The Taj Mahal has been built by a team work of architects; however, the main architect who could impress Emporer Shah Jahan with his incredible ideas is Ustad Isa of Turkey. The structure of the Taj Mahal is the plan of this architect.

The Taj is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world and the image most associated with India. Probably, there is not a single soul that has ever gone back from the Taj without experiencing utter joy, ecstasy and awe that has very aptly found expression in many write-ups! Story of Taj Mahal: The eternal love story of the Taj Mahal makes it the best of all the world’s monuments as it was built in the memory of the Empress of Agra. Taj Mahal has proved that Emperor Shah Jahan loved his wife Empress Mumtaz Mahal eternally so as to built this monument as a tomb of remembrance after his wife died while giving birth to his 14th child. She was only 39 years old at that time.

• Monument Of Love: Taj Mahal is the symbol of love and makes us think about the power of love in our day to day life. If Emperor Shah Jahan would have never loved his wife so deeply then he would have never thought of building this monument for us to keep in our everlasting memory. It is truly said that love never fails.

Environmental Protection of Taj Mahal: Although the Taj Mahal may appear to the untrained eye almost as perfect as the day it was completed, the marble is undeniably sullen and yellow in parts, and empty casings here and there betray lost precious stones. These are the early effects of the threat posed by pollution from traffic and industry, and the millions of tourists who visit the tomb year-round. While marble is all but impervious to the onslaught of wind and rain that erodes softer sandstone, it has no natural defence against the sulphur dioxide that lingers in a dusty haze and shrouds the monument; sometimes the smog is so dense that the tomb cannot be seen from the fort. Sulphur dioxide mixes with atmospheric moisture and settles as sulphuric acid on the surface of the tomb, making the smooth white marble yellow and flaky, and forming a subtle fungus that experts have named "marble cancer".

Maintenance of Taj Mahal: Taj Mahal, though old, is maintained well and protected in all the aspects to keep it looking as new as it was build.
