Taj Protected Forest

Surrounding the white beauty of the great Taj, Taj Protected Forest or the Taj Nature Walk is very near from the monument of love. It is located at a distance of 500mts from the Eastern Gate of the Taj. It takes 5 -10 minutes by walk from this gate to reach the Taj Nature Walk. Once you pay the entry fees and enter the forest then it is completely yours.  At the boundary of the Taj Nature Walk you can see the most desiring monument, the Taj Mahal.


How to reach Taj Nature Walk and Taj Protected Forest?

If you are near the Taj Mahal, one can walk from the Eastern Gate of the Taj or the Shilpgram parking area towards the Taj Nature Walk. You can also hire the horse driven vehicles or the bi-cycle rikshaw to move towards the natural creativity of the forest. Battery operated or the zero-pollution three wheelers or the four wheelers are always awaited to drop you at the entrance gate of the Taj Nature Walk.


If you are near any other monument or any other area of Agra, then you can hire a bi-cycle rikshaw, auto-rikshaw or taxi to move towards the Taj Nature Walk.


What is the specialty of this forest?

The Taj Protected Forest is natural and maintained. You can find various types of species of flora and fauna in it. Floral species like Julie Flora is mostly found in the forest. Apart from this, the forest has medicinal plants and herbs in it. The deep valley surrounding the forest has fauna like various species of snakes, rabbits, jackals and wild cats.


Why is this forest popular among the visitors of the Taj Mahal?                         

The Taj Protected Forest being known for its natural beauty is also known for the Taj view. The view of the Taj from the forest is amazing and one could just imagine how Shah Jahan would have been seeing this wonderful site from this area. Taj Nature Walk as the name suggests is a natural walk towards the Taj Mahal from the main gate of the Taj Nature Walk. One can easily move towards the end of the Taj Nature Walk wondering about how the Taj Mahal looks from this place. Those who cannot afford the Taj Mahal entry fees can surely satisfy themselves after the Taj Mahal is seen from this great end.

  • After moving down towards the valley one can see artificially constructed waterfalls
  • One can again climb up to move towards the green forest and then come towards a artificially maintained lawn where the Taj Mahal view is initiated.

  • Visiting hours in summer season are: 7am to pm
  • Visiting hours in winter season are: 8am to 5pm
